About this tree

The mtDNA tree traces the maternal line — mother to mother to mother — unbroken back to the earliest human branches. It is a different tree from the Y-DNA tree, which follows the paternal line.

The tree structure is drawn live from the YFull mtDNA tree (build 1.02.23997). Branch narratives and sample lists are coming in future releases.
